Sustainability at NAWA^® MEDICAL

The support of human rights, environmental protection and sustainability is now an integral part of corporate objectives in many parts of the economy, while ethical and sustainable behaviour is already a prerequisite from the perspective of customers and consumers. As a future-orientated company, it is important to us to contribute to the well-being of global society and the protection of the planet.

Our products are manufactured exclusively in Germany to ensure short delivery routes. We do not use any animal-based raw materials, environmentally harmful fragrances and colourants, silicones, paraffins, mineral oil, MOAH or MOSH. Our products are also free from microplastics and GMOs.

Completely degradable tubes or similar primary packaging are currently not compatible with the regulatory and legal requirements for medical devices. Nevertheless, our aim is for the tubes and bottles to be produced as sustainably and environmentally friendly as possible. We therefore only source them from suppliers that can guarantee this. The secondary packaging materials for our products (folding boxes and leaflets) are FSC certified. The packaging materials are entirely manufactured in Germany and Europe.

All of our suppliers have their headquarters and production facilities in Germany or the EU, therefore they are obliged to implement and comply with the applicable regulations on work safety and protection. These are monitored by the respective state authorities. Our regular on-site audits also give us the opportunity to gain an impression of the working environment and conditions. It goes without saying that we also ensure these in our company.

The sourcing of palm oil also poses a challenge for its use. Although it is one of the highest-yielding oils, its cultivation can cause environmental and social problems. Our raw material supplier is a member of the RSPO, and our contract manufacturer also fulfils the requirements of the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard. It is important to note that our products do not contain pure palm oil or palm kernel oil, but palm oil derivatives or palm kernel oil derivatives. And even these only proportionally. The palm oil derivatives or palm kernel oil derivatives used in our products consist of 100% MB-certified palm oil derivatives or palm kernel oil derivatives.

We are constantly reviewing our options for protecting and caring for the environment in which we live. We will increasingly use sustainable products wherever this is possible within the legal framework for medical devices. Naturally, we will keep our customers up to date on new developments in this context.
